UK Allowing Sex Offender

A court in the UK has allowed a convicted sex offender to stay in the country even after doctors confirmed that he is still a threat. The convicted felon is originally from Afghanistan and had been seeking asylum in the United Kingdom.

The man was convicted in 2017 on the charges of ‘outraging public decency and exposure’. He was given permission to stay in the country at that time even after his conviction. The immigration tribunal can invoke draconian laws that restrict reporting of such incidents.

The doctors said that the man continues to act inappropriately towards females. The court allowed the man to stay in the country citing a threat to his life if he returned to Afghanistan.

The judgement ignores the threat he poses on the British citizens and is a matter of grave concern. The judge said that he faced the risk of mob violence if sent back because of his behavior.

More than half of the asylum seekers in the UK have been allowed to stay in the country in recent years. This comes at a time when the country is facing a serious immigrant crisis.
